What you’re looking at might be one of the more original 1983 DeLorean DMC-12s, and while it’s not cheap, it’s definitely very special.

DeLorean is in the midst of a dramatic revival, and while it remains to be seen if its ambitious EV plans come to fruition, the DMC-12 will long remain one of the auto industry’s most intriguing stories.

The DMC-12 was famously built for two years between 1981 and 1983, by Giorgetto Giugiaro and was the only model produced by the DeLorean Motor Company. She became world famous because of Back to the Future but even if she was never featured in the movie, we have no doubts that she would still stand out.

This particular DMC-12 is listed for sale through Podium Auto Sales in Pompano Beach, Florida with an asking price of $98,000.

The dealer notes that the vehicle was stored in 1986 with just over 5,000 miles (8,000 km) on the clock and that it has remained in a climate-controlled facility ever since. To prepare it for sale, the fuel pump, spark plugs, oil filter, fuel lines and coolant were replaced, while the fuel tank was also cleaned. In addition, the brake calipers were recently reconstructed and the door struts and luggage compartment replaced. It also contains a new new title.

Unsurprisingly, the vehicle appears to be in good condition and features original Goodyear tires dating back to 1981. The exterior shows no visible signs of wear, and except for some cracks and creases across the black leather interior, they could be excused To think that the car has just rolled off the production line.
