This 1969 Charger is a 2019 Challenger Hellcat Under Carbon Cover

The highly modified Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is perhaps the closest to the modern interpretation of the 1969 classic Charger thanks to the Six12 Auto Worx.

The car you see here is number 002 of only 10 cars that will receive a 1969 carbon charger conversion this year, and it was on display at Mecum Auctions in Kissimmee.

Six12 Auto Worx stripped the original bodywork from the all-new Challenger SRT Hellcat and applied their own custom Charger leather, for those who want the classic look but not necessarily all the hassle that comes with a 50-year-old car.

As you might imagine, creating a Charger body for the modern Challenger…was quite a challenge, as the team had to extend the classic design on the newer car while making it look like a Charger; The finished car is now wider in order to keep the wheels tucked under the quarter panels, the front and rear valances are deeper, as well as the sides compared to the original Charger, along with a myriad of other changes needed to make it look like the true modern version of the classic muscle car.

The new chassis is finished in Plum Candy Purple Glassier, leaving the carbon weave exposed, while the car rides on new Forgeline wheels. He also estimates that the carbon body is about 300 pounds (136 kg) lighter than the steel on a stock Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Under the new leather, everything stays stock, ensuring that this Charger model is as friendly as the new Challenger Hellcat, while retaining all the way through every modern feature and available safety system for the 707-hp muscle car.

The cabin is pure Challenger, complete with its modern infotainment and complete soundproofing, while blind spot monitoring is maintained thanks to the 3D-printed smart door mirrors.

The end result is a very impressive custom muscle car that combines the presence of a supercharger with the performance of the all-new Challenger SRT Hellcat.
