Custom muscle cars are built on the basis of Mustangs, Chargers, Camaro, Cruisers and Competitors, which have created an unfortunate normalization of Restomod vehicles. There are still a few shops whose thinking is particularly creative, making amazing machines that blur the boundaries between art and the automobile. Ringbrothers has once again established itself as one of the industry leaders, unveiling the AMC “javelin AMX” 1,080 hp engine.

As with all Ringbrothers designs, the “AMX” is very different from the car it originally started with. To accommodate the new engine, the “spear” wheels have been moved forward 6.5 inches, hidden behind a flared carbon-fiber body. The hood, grille, front fenders and front valance have been redesigned and engineered in carbon fiber, and enhanced with custom machined aluminum parts. Power is supplied from Hellcat’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which can produce a whopping 1,030 horsepower to the rear wheels, through an automatic transmission.

To keep things on the shiny side, the Javelin rides on a custom front subframe, originally designed for the Camaro that sports Ridetech suspension components, sway bars and modern steering. At the rear, a twelve-bolt Chevrolet rear end was mounted on a four-link suspension, designed inboard. Six-piston baer brakes are mounted behind large 20-inch HRE wheels, wrapped in 285/30 tires up front, and 335/30S tires in the rear.
